Who is a candidate for liposuction?
Liposuction is not used for weight loss, rather to correct problem areas or fat bulges. A candidate will be close to their ideal weight because a liposuction is typically performed in patients that have an area of fat they find hard to lose. The fat removed does not weight a lot, so patients should expect a shape change, not a weight change.

What areas of the body can be treated with liposuction?
Most body areas can be treated with liposuction, though the most common areas in females are the abdomen, hips, and thighs. Men are often treated for liposuction in the breasts, hips, and abdomen. Liposuction is not limited to these areas, though other places may include the upper arms, under the chin and the buttocks.

What is the recovery period like?
One goes home same day if the liposuction involved fat sucked out to be less than 1500ml. If large volume liposuction is performed between (2 to 7 liters)then its recommended to stay in hospital as long as necessary usually 2 to 3 nights.

What kind of follow up is needed after Liposuction?
Once a week patient is expected to see the plastic surgeon post operatively to check if the pressure garments are of right size and used rightly. Once this part of managment is understood by the patient then may be once a month one can get herself checked. Some patients gets inspired by their looks and then start to take care of their figure by stopping overloading body with calories. Limited food and regular gym or playing games is the trick of the trade.

Does liposuction leave scars?
Incisions made during liposuction are generally very small and put in areas that are more inconspicuous. Most cases of liposuction will heal well and it will be difficult to see where they were originally made.

What is the most likely complication of Liposuction?
Collection of liquid under the skin called Seroma is the most common complication. It is mixture of melted fat because of trauma at the time of liposuction, some serum (watery part of blood) and some infiltrated liquid. Normally it appears in the first week after liposuction. Surgeon will suspect it if the expected reduction in the volume at the area of liposuction does not show by then and if a fluid impulse is positive. The treatment is aspiration (which may have to be repeated weekly if too much) and if its left to resolve on its own it can get infected being a very good culture medium to grow bugs and may end up cellulitis (inflammation of skin fat in the treated area) If up to this stage the area remains untreated then even skin necrosis can take place. Most common cause of seroma formation is use of thin cannulas for liposuction and patient not using pressure garment s at least 8 hours a day.

What is the cost of Liposuction?
The package deal with me is calculated on the understanding that $1700 to 2200 will be charged per area of body. Full abdomen has upper and lower abdomen and right and left side and therefore has four areas to be treated.

Where will the surgery be performed?
I operate in several internationally accredited hospitals in Dubai like Medcare Hospital near Safa Park, like Welcare Hospital , Jebel Ali Hosptial and Bilhoul Hospital in Satwa .Each Hospital has different level of facilities and expertise at various levels like anesthesia and nursing. Each hospital has different rates for each activity. Therefore the total package deal will also depend upon which hospital the patient wants me to operate. I do no surgery in outpatient clinics.

Is there a consultation charge or is it free?
The first consultation is charged 500 AED (140 $) dirham but its refunded at the time of surgery. Further consultations for the same problem are fee and follow-ups after surgery are free. 
How Can I book a date for surgery staying outside Dubai and without consultation?
Yes it's possible provided you have sent detailed information about yourself along with pictures of the given problem to Prof. Dr. Ashok Govila. And once a package deal has been agreed upon the professional fees that is 50 % of the package deal is to be sent by money transfer of some kind to book a date for surgery. Money can be transferred dirtily to the Bank account of Prof. Dr. Ashok Govila, or by western Union Money transfer or using any other exchange facility. If there is enough time between the decision making and date for surgery and which means enough time for the clearance of the cheque then a cheque can be sent by courier service. The details of these methods can be directly communicated on emails (send mail) to Professor Ashok.

Are any finances available for Medical purposes of this kind?
Yes, 100 % finance is made available to resident visa holders of United Arab Emirates on 1 % interest rates. Such arrangements cannot avail any discounts even if there are more them 2 surgeries performed at one time.

Can I avail some kind of discount
Yes there is a method to avail discount. If you go for two surgical procedures one of them will be performed on 30% discount. Similarly if you come with your friend and both of them go for some surgical procedure both of them are entitled for 20 % discount. If you are a member of Emirates Pilot club or Etihad Airline you can avail 20 % discount.

Are there any payments plans like intallments?
Yes there are .One can pay 50 % payment by cash or card and rest as monthly intallments (postdated cheques)

FAT TRANSFER
The sucked out fat when utilized to fill depressions in the body or for augmentation of other areas like hips, breast, and face then it is called fat transfer. Fat transfer is priced as 5000 -7000 per area and needs one night hospitalization. Back to work in 3 daystime.

LIPOLYSIS
Dissolving fat chemically is possible with its own limitations. It is good for double chin and for areas where the amount of fat to be removed to be less than 500 ml. The medicine is injected with special technique into the fat and it takes some 3 weeks to melt and excreted by the body. These injections can be repeated every 3rd week couple of times depending upon the desired shape. Use of compression garments helps the process and to give shape to the area.
